Dub Your Urdu Videos into English to Reach Higher-Paying Viewers

Most Urdu channels only reach viewers who understand Urdu. Advertisers usually pay more to reach viewers in countries like the US, UK and Canada, so an English version of your video can open the door to a different, often higher-paying audience.

The good news is that you do not need a second channel for this. YouTube lets you add extra audio tracks in other languages to the same video. Viewers who prefer English can switch to it from the settings menu.

Why not use YouTube's auto-dub?

YouTube's own automatic dubbing does not support Urdu, so it cannot create an English track from an Urdu video. You need to make the English dub yourself and upload it.

Step 1: Get your Urdu lines with timing

In CIVE's Urdu Dub tool, choose the Urdu to English direction. Then either paste your YouTube link to fetch its Urdu subtitles, or upload your Urdu subtitle file (.srt or .vtt). You can download it from YouTube Studio: Subtitles, then Urdu, then the three-dot menu, then Download. If your video has no Urdu subtitles yet, add them in Studio first.

Step 2: Translate and review

Choose the Natural dub style so the English fits the time of each line. Then read through every line. You know your content best, so fix anything that sounds off, like names, local words or jokes that do not translate well.

Step 3: Pick an English voice and make the dub

Listen to a few English voices using your own lines as the sample, then make the dub. The result follows your video's timing, with quiet parts where nobody speaks.

Step 4: Add it in YouTube Studio

  • Open YouTube Studio and select your video.
  • Go to Languages and choose Add language, then English.
  • Under Dub, choose Add and upload the dub file you downloaded.

The same steps are shown inside the tool after your dub is ready. You can also download English subtitles (.srt) and add them to the video for viewers who prefer reading.

Tips

  • Start with your best-performing videos, since they already have proven topics.
  • Add an English title and description too (also under Languages in Studio), so English viewers can find the video in search.
  • Keep the original music softly in the background if you also make a dubbed MP4 for other platforms.

Try it with one video in CIVE's Urdu Dub tool. Getting subtitles is free, translation starts at 1 credit, and the voice cost is shown before you make the dub.
