How to Dub a Video With Several Speakers Using Different Voices
Dubbing a video where only one person talks is simple. But interviews, podcasts and conversations have two or more people, and if everyone is dubbed with the same voice, viewers quickly get confused about who is saying what.
CIVE's Urdu Dub tool can give each speaker their own voice, for up to four speakers.
Step 1: Load the subtitles
Start the same way as any dub: paste a YouTube link to fetch its subtitles, or upload an .srt or .vtt file. Multiple voices need timed subtitles, so this option is not available with a pasted script.
Step 2: Tell the tool several people are talking
Press "Several people talk in this video". The AI reads the lines and guesses who says each one. This step is free. It then regroups the lines so that no line mixes two people. If it cannot tell who is talking, or finds only one speaker, it tells you, and you can set the speakers yourself.
Step 3: Fix any line
After translating, each line shows a small speaker label (S1 to S4) next to its time. If the AI got a line wrong, change it from the dropdown. It is worth checking quick back-and-forth sections, where speakers change often.
Step 4: Choose a voice for each speaker
On the voice step, each speaker gets a tab showing how many lines they have. Pick a voice for each one. The play button reads that speaker's own lines, so you can hear how they will sound.
Speaker 1 uses the main voice you pick. The tool suggests different voices for the others, and never gives two people the same voice. For speakers 2 and 4 it suggests a voice of the other gender, which you can change.
Tips for a clear dub
- Match the voice to the person: a deeper voice for an older host, a lighter one for a younger guest.
- Keep the same voice for the same person across all your videos, especially for a regular host.
- Listen to the finished dub once all the way through before you publish.
Your downloads are the same as a normal dub: the timed audio, subtitles, a version without gaps and a dubbed MP4. Try it in CIVE's Urdu Dub tool with your next interview or podcast clip.
